Cyber Security Training

A little less than two year ago, Olympic High School crafted a strategy to align its IT curriculum towards network administration with a concentration in cyber security.  One of the goals at Olympic is to meet the demand of countless unfilled jobs in cyber security by training and producing the next Fortinet certified students while in high school. This model prepares students for future opportunities in cyber security.

The OHS Foundation supported the effort by providing a donation to secure and implement The Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE). This is a new, 8-level certification program designed for technical professionals interested in independent validation of their network security skills and experience. The program includes a wide range of self-paced and instructor led courses, as well as practical, experiential exercises that demonstrate mastery of complex network security concepts.

The OHS Foundation fulfilled this need with an absolute focus on the future of the next generation.  OHS Foundation Executive Director, Joan O’Brien states, “We are committed to supporting our teachers and students by providing the necessary resources for them to be successful.”
